The holiday season and the end of 2012 is upon us. Many of the holidays and feasts associated with the end of the year are all spiritual experiences to show gratitude and to appreciate our loved ones, family, friends and all that we have.
To honor this season, Hilton|Asmus Contemporary is preparing two shows. The first, opening on November 2nd, is COLORS OF OM, by Cuban-American artist, Rick Garcia. The three time official artist of the GRAMMY AWARDS and "ABSOLUT Artist of the 90's," will be flying in to Chicago from his native Miami to share with us his mixture of dazzling images inspired by his Cuban heritage, combined with a series of paintings on meditation in his American pop-art style. This will be his first exhibition in Chicago in 15 years!
The second show, BODY & SOUL, opens on December 12. It is about paying homage to the quietude and spirituality that tends to come to play towards the end of the year, when we begin to reassess all that has happened in the past and the changes we need or want to make in the future. The exhibition is a collaboration between Hilton | Asmus Contemporary and Jennifer Norback Fine Art. The show will feature paintings, poetry & video by Arica Hilton, paintings & sculpture by Rene Romero Schuler, and jewelry by Tammy Kohl. Arica and Tammy had recently collaborated on WHERE STARS ARE BORN, an exhibition of paintings and jewelry inspired by the Hubble Telescope images of the nebulas, the clouds of dust and gases where stars are actually born! More information on this show is soon to follow.....
