The ear was one of the most sensual and passionate parts of the body of Gala, Dali’s longdesired lover. The artist liked the mixture of surrealism and religion that seem to be the groundwork of the sculpture. According to the medieval tradition, Dali believed that Christ was conceived in the ear. |
